## How to calculate migration speed (m/yr) from the LPJ-GM output lai.out

1. open and run the MATLAB script Postprocessing_plotMigrationRate.m (with supporting function downscale.m)
2. parameter settings: build_dir='...' (indicate the path to lai.out), column=[5] (select the lai.out column containing the species of interest; [4] for Abi_alb and Betula spp., and [5] for the remaining species)
3. output: Figures with spatial simulation domain and species-specific spread and migration speed

A sample LPJ-GM output (lai.out) is provided. 
The output lai.out corresponds to the simulation for Ulmus glabra with kernel_fun="weibull" and shape_par=2.25 (see result in Input_KA.csv).
